America was not like this. Now it is.

Why the US Government
Is Hated All Over the World

By Fred Reed

Something is wrong with the United States. I think most of us have noticed it. There is a mortal rot in the country, made manifest by many little rots that are hard to integrate mentally yet are, I think, somehow related. The change is grave, accelerating, probably irreversible, and fascinating. Things are not as they were.

The United States is the most hated country on the planet, followed by, to the extent that there is a distinction, Israel. So far as I know, there are no other contenders. You can say “Who cares?” as many will say, or “Screw’em if they can’t take a joke,” or “I’d ratherh be feared than loved.” All very droll. Still, it is an interesting datum. No country ever lives up to its own PR, but there was a time when America was widely admired. Now, almost universally, it is seen as a rogue state. And is.

This carries a price. The US consulate in Guadalajara is part fortress, part prison, with barriers and cameras and bars and rentacops, and they take away a woman’s lipstick if she is going to enter. Maybe a country that fears lipstick needs to think. The French consulate around the corner is wide open, like all others that I know of. The French, Chinese, Japanese and so on aren’t hated.

(1) The US government now lives in its own, strange, insulated world.

(2) The United States is the most militarily aggressive country on the planet, followed closely by Israel. I am aware of no other contenders.

Some of this combativeness is obvious – attacking Iraq for no good reason, occupying Afghanistan, threatening Syria and Iran, attacking Lebanon by proxy, bombing Somalia, putting troops in the Philippines to hunt Moslems. The US is also looking for trouble with Venezuela, threatening North Korea, moving to “contain” China (Doesn’t a container need to be bigger than its contents?), embargoing Cuba, pushing into Central Asia, increasing the military budget, and pushing NATO ever closer to Russia. (How stupid can you get? Very. Stay tuned.) And the Pentagon now has Africom, African Command. Africa is now America’s business.

(3) Powerful domestic hostilities grip the United States. Maybe you have to be outside of it really to see it. I live in Mexico. You can go for…well, five years and counting, without hearing angry talk about this or that group. In America, women hate men and men are getting sick of American women. Blacks hate whites hate Hispanics. “Affirmative action” engenders intense hostility that doesn’t go away. It isn’t the normal friction found in any country. It is serious antagonism quashed by federal force.

And the black-white-brown thing has very real potential for getting nasty. This we don’t talk about.

(4) A curious state of fear prevails in America, but it is a governmental creation, a calculated manipulative Disneyland. Perhaps soon we will have Terror Mouse.

Recently I was in Washington. Everywhere there were the artificialities of fear. The steel pop-up barriers in the roads, the stop’em-bombs steel poles on sidewalks, the endless warnings to report suspicious behavior on loudspeakers in the subway. The searches of everything, the metal-detecting doorways even on buildings of county governments, of schools. (Schools, for Chrissakes. What is wrong here?) And of course the confiscation of shampoo at the airport. This is nuts.

(5) The bullying of people entering the US. Any country has the right to determine who enters. Fine. If you don’t want them to enter, don’t give them visas. If you issue a visa, try to be courteous.

Violeta had a visa, issued by the consulate, both times when we went to the US. Still she got bullied by the border Nazis. It was ugly. I am obviously not a Mexican, but I get the same hostile questioning as to where I am going, why I was in Mexico, and so on. It is none of their business where I go in my country. Or shouldn’t be, but there are no limitations on governmental powers now. A friend, married to a Mexicana, again with a visa, got separated from her, and both got abusive questioning. She came out crying.

America was not like this. Now it is.

Compare this with the real world. I land in Beijing – evil commie Beijing, right? Maybe twenty seconds to see whether my visa was valid, clonk of stamp, thank you, no baggage search, into a taxi. Vi and I land in Paris, en route to Italy. Glance at passport, yep, it’s a passport, no stamp, no nothing, on we go. Italy didn’t even look at our passports. Grown-ups.

I am not ashamed of the United States. It is a hell of a country. Been there, done that, loved it. In two weeks in DC with Violeta, although she is clearly not American, she was everywhere, always, treated with perfect courtesy and friendliness, whether on Cap Hill or Farmville, Virginia. Americans really are good folk. The government isn’t. It’s the gravest problem we face, both internationally and domestically.

(6) The Constitution really is going away, or has gone. It never did work as well as it should have, but few things human ever do. Habeas corpus is dead, right to an attorney, congressional right to declare war – it’s not even worth listing the list. Joe iPod in the burbs doesn’t care because it doesn’t affect him, yet. Git them Hay-rabs, ain’t no draft, plenty sushi. Urg.

(7) The increasing, detailed, intrusive regulation of life, the national desire for control, control, control. Everything is the business of some form of government. Want to paint your shutters? The condo association won’t let you. Let dogs in your bar? Never. Decide who to sell your house to? Racial matter. Own a dog? Shot card, pooper-scooper, leash, gotta be spayed, etc. Have a bar for men only, women only, whites or blacks only? Here come the federal marshals. What isn’t controlled by government is controlled by the crypto-vindictive mob rule of political correctness. This wasn’t always in the American character.

Add the continuing presence of police in the schools, the arrest in handcuffs of children of seven, the expulsions for drawing a picture of a soldier with a gun. Something very twisted is going on.

How much of the public knows what is happening, or even knows that something is happening? I don’t know. But I don’t think that it’s going to go away. In ten years it will be an entirely different place with the same name. Almost is now.

Ron Paul has already won,....

The Ron Paul Effect

 Antiwar Republican makes waves –

and the Establishment is in shock

By Justin Raimondo

The times, they are a changin' – and the signs are all around us. The American people are sick unto death of the Iraq war, and this growing dissatisfaction with American foreign policy spans the political spectrum: it isn't just the Left that is singing "we ain't marchin' anymore," it's moderates and even conservatives. The recantation of Walter "Freedom Fries" Jones was the harbinger of a mounting trend, and as disaster piles on fresh disaster in the killing fields of Mesopotamia, the conservative case for the war gets harder to make – and more prominent figures on the Right are dissenting from the Bush-neocon orthodoxy.

Conservative dissent on the war question has been present from the very beginning: Pat Buchanan has been a vocal critic of the War Party since Gulf War I. The American Conservative magazine, which Buchanan co-founded with Taki Theodoracopulos and Scott McConnell, was launched to give voice to those on the Right who reject the neoconservative "liberationism" of the Bush administration as a "Jacobin" invention, as Claes Ryn, a prominent conservative professor, so trenchantly put it. Others have since joined Buchanan, Ryn, and the other conservatives and libertarians who were denounced as "unpatriotic" by David "Axis of Evil" Frum, the neocon enforcer of political correctness, in the pages of National Review – when he announced that he and all good little movement (neo)conservatives would henceforth "turn our backs" on those perfectly awful "unpatriotic conservatives."

That this now means Frum must turn his back on the founder of National Review is an irony worth contemplating. William F. Buckley Jr. has recently argued that the war is a "failure," along with the policy that spawned it, and that it is time for conservatives to reconsider their blind support. Without quite saying it, Buckley's chief concern seems to be that the GOP ship will go down with the neocons who have hijacked it, and this political consideration is precisely what motivated a group of Republican congressmen to troop to the White House the other day and bluntly declare they'd had just about enough. As even some of the neocons, such as Francis Fukuyama – who famously proclaimed the "end of history" – abjure their errors and the rats jump ship, "movement" conservatives are following suit.

Back before the war started, Cliff Kincaid, a conservative activist and writer associated with Accuracy in Media (AIM), a longtime mainstay of "movement" conservatism, penned a piece entitled "Antiwar Conservatives?" that questioned the existence of such an exotic species. Like the unicorn and the sphinx, this creature, he averred, was only talked about yet never seen, and he specifically took me to task for allying with the "far Left" in a united front against the war. Right after the invasion was launched, I appeared with him on MSNBC to debate the war: the country, I said, was against the invasion, and an increasing number of fairly conservative Republicans – such as Ron Paul – were speaking out against it. For his part, Kincaid wondered aloud how in touch with the national zeitgeist it was possible to be out in San Francisco.

Now that most of the rest of the nation is aligned with my fellow San Franciscans, however, Kincaid has done a turnaround: he not only acknowledges the existence of antiwar conservatives, but has also become one of their most eloquent defenders against the know-nothings of the neoconized GOP. The neocons are in a tizzy about the heresy of Ron Paul at the South Carolina Republican presidential debates, when he dared state the obvious: that al-Qaeda is "over here" because we are "over there." Rudy Giuliani's Mussolini-esque eruption and Paul's defiant-yet-reasonable refusal to recant has become the fulcrum of the right wing's agony over an issue that could sink the GOP, marginalize conservatives, and give us President Hillary Clinton.

Kincaid wisely recognizes that the neocon response to Paul's speaking truth to power is intellectually dishonest. What's even more heartening, however, is Kincaid's anger over the attempted smearing of Rep. Paul:

"In a desperate attempt to make Rudy Giuliani out to be the hero of Tuesday night's debate, Fox News is continuing to attack Texas Congressman Ron Paul for something he did not say. In the latest installment of this campaign, John Gibson of Fox News says that Paul 'suggested that the U.S. actually had a hand in the [9/11] terrorist attacks.' No, what he said was that U.S. foreign policy was a reason why Osama bin Laden attacked America. This is a fact.

"Gibson's comment shows how Fox News has been eager to slant the news in favor of Giuliani, who claimed in his famous response to Paul that the congressman had said that the U.S. 'invited' the 9/11 attacks. That was false, too."

The outright lie that Paul is part of the "9/11 Truth" movement, which holds that the U.S. government itself pulled off the biggest terrorist attack in American history, is the latest edition of the smear-Ron-Paul campaign that has taken off since the showdown with America's Mafioso Mayor. The canard that Paul justifies terrorism is eagerly spread by the smarmy Gibson and the ridiculous Michelle Malkin, a cocoa Coulterite who, like the original white-bread version, makes an art out of self-caricature. Even after the complete falsehood of her charge against Paul was pointed out, and acknowledged by her, Malkin still did her best to wriggle out of it by trying to weave a very tenuous connection between Paul and the Truthers. The woman has zero integrity and even less credibility, but the smear campaign rolls on. As Kincaid put it:

"Ron Paul is being viciously attacked over this issue because some people don't want to consider the implications, which Paul is honest enough from his perspective to spell out. These implications are that the U.S. should withdraw from the region, supposedly to spare the U.S. from any further attacks. That is the Ron Paul approach, and he claims it is what President Reagan would do. It may be naïve to some, but he cites Reagan's withdrawal of U.S. troops from Lebanon after 241 of them were murdered in a suicide bombing. He thinks no good can come from U.S. involvement in such an irrational part of the world."

Kincaid probably doesn't agree with Paul's analysis in its entirety, but he is honest enough to call a foul when he sees it. Chances are he is fairly typical of conservative activists in the GOP, not the bought-and-sold "leadership" but the rank-and-file, and therein lies a golden opportunity for Paul – and the antiwar movement.

Rudy, for his part, continues to display his utter ignorance and determination to demagogue his way to the White House by touting his confrontation with Paul. Speaking in New York with Sen. John McCain, he claimed that the six Albanians recently busted for plotting to attack Fort Dix and kill American soldiers proves that he, not Paul, is right about Why They Hate Us: "Why [did they want to kill our soldiers]?" he asked his audience, according to Stephen Spruiell of National Review. "Because we had some attacks on Iraq in the 1990s? I don't think so."

Think again, Rudy: according to news accounts of the case, one of the defendants, Eljvir Duka, was recorded as saying, "In the end, when it comes to defending your religion, when someone attacks your religion, your way of life, then you go jihad." This sounds very much like the same litany of complaints that OBL and his gang have used to recruit an ever-growing army of terrorists to their banner: America's war on Iraq, they say, is part of its general war on Islam itself.

Furthermore, there is every indication that most if not all of the Fort Dix terrorists were trained by the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), which was aided by the U.S. in its fight against the Serbs – and for whose sake we initiated a bombing campaign that ended in the dissolution of Yugoslavia and the fall of Serb leader Slobodan Milosevic. Here the parallels with al-Qaeda – nurtured in the bosom of the U.S.-funded-and-supported Afghan insurgency against the Soviets in the 1980s – are even clearer. Once again, "blowback" has blown back in our faces. We armed these guys, we trained them, we funded and encouraged them in waging yet another war of "liberation" – and today we are fending them off as they try to blow up military installations in the U.S. Now there's gratitude for you!

Although Spruiell doesn't agree with Paul's conclusions, he is clearly appalled by the blatant disregard for logic and plain old common sense displayed by Paul's enemies in the GOP:

"Excuse this interruption of presidential politics for a quick moment with a reality check: What's the big deal with admitting that our pre-invasion policies toward Iraq — the sanctions, the no-fly zones, the bases to protect Saudi Arabia from Saddam's lunatic aggression — were used to justify mass slaughter in Osama bin Laden's various fatwas against America? That doesn't make him right. It just identifies one dynamic at work in the evil worldview of a madman."

A reality check is precisely what the neocons who control the Republican political machine fear the most. That's because they don't acknowledge any version of reality other than their own, and they can't afford to, either – or else the whole fabric of their elaborate fantasy of the U.S. as the noble "liberator" of Iraq will start to come apart at the seams. As journalist Ron Suskind recounted a discussion with a top White House official:

"The aide said that guys like me were 'in what we call the reality-based community,' which he defined as people who 'believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. 'That's not the way the world really works anymore,' he continued. 'We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality – judiciously, as you will – we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors … and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.'"

Up until now, the GOP has been living in a bubble, along with the president, denying that we were losing, and that we got ourselves into an awful mess: the "good news," they claimed, wasn't being reported, on account of the media's alleged "antiwar bias." That, at least, is what Kincaid seemed to sincerely believe when we debated on MSNBC two years ago. Today, however, he seems ready to acknowledge that there is a problem and that the fault isn't to be found with the media, or with someone like Ron Paul who dares to say that the emperor has no clothes, but with his fellow conservatives.

This is progress, and Paul's candidacy is the catalyst. Of course, Ron has a lot of obstacles to overcome, not the least of which is the liberal bias of "mainstream" media – yes, Cliff, I agree with you on that one! Anyone who votes against government programs as a matter of high principle and who insists on taking the letter of the Constitution seriously, as Rep. Paul consistently does, is going to have to endure much from skeptical journalists – such as CNN's John King Sunday, who, during an interview with Paul, scoffed at his low poll numbers. Of course, the polls don't mean much six months before the first primary. It is foolish to write off Paul's potential appeal at this stage – especially to New Hampshire voters, who will set the tone for the race.

Remember, Pat Buchanan took New Hampshire in 1992, and Rep. Paul has a lot in common with the Buchanan Brigades, who may turn out in full pitchfork mode for the conservative-libertarian congressman from Texas. The smug assurances from both establishment liberals and the folks over at Fox News that Paul is a meaningless blip in the online polls – supposedly "manipulated" by Paul's online Machiavellis – could be very short-lived. No, online polls aren't an accurate measure of a candidate's popular support – but they do measure something, and that is the degree of support among his or her followers. And this can translate into a measure of future support, given the candidate's ability to attract attention and build on this enthusiastic base.

Rudy's rudeness has backfired. In response to the effort to paint Paul as a Republican John Walker Lindh who must be waterboarded until he confesses all, Ron has attracted some prominent defenders: Bill Maher, Andrew Sullivan, and others who might not agree with all of Paul's message but who are nevertheless outraged at this brazen attempt to intimidate him and drive him out of the GOP. Six months from now, as the war gets even worse and the "surge" hasn't amounted to a hill of beans, what Paul is saying will be the emerging conventional wisdom, so much so that even the Republican leadership will have to acknowledge it. Provided he continues to do well in fundraising, Paul's poll numbers could spiral rapidly upward as the Iraqi occupation and the sock-puppet "government" of Iraq plunges downward into oblivion. Which brings to mind a famous saying of Gandhi's:

"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win."

They don't dare ignore him, and ridicule isn't working: now they're engaging him, but it is already too late for that. In raising the issue of our failed foreign policy in the very arena that the War Party has always counted as its exclusive domain, Ron Paul has already won. The neocons may be able to retain control of the GOP until November '08, but Iraq really is their Waterloo. The blame for the coming defeat of the GOP will fall squarely on their shoulders – and then it won't be Ron Paul who will be driven out of the party.

Educating Rudy,...

But Who Was Right?

Rudy or

RON PAUL

By Patrick J. Buchanan

It was the decisive moment of the South Carolina debate.

Hearing Rep. Ron Paul recite the reasons for Arab and Islamic resentment of the United States, including 10 years of bombing and sanctions that brought death to thousands of Iraqis after the Gulf War, Rudy Giuliani broke format and exploded:

"That's really an extraordinary statement, as someone who lived through the attack of 9-11, that we invited the attack because we were attacking Iraq. I don't think I have ever heard that before, and I have heard some pretty absurd explanations for Sept. 11.

"I would ask the congressman to withdraw that comment and tell us what he really meant by it."

The applause for Rudy's rebuke was thunderous - –the sound bite of the night and best moment of Rudy's campaign.

After the debate, on Fox News' "Hannity and Colmes," came one of those delicious moments on live television. As Michael Steele, GOP spokesman, was saying that Paul should probably be cut out of future debates, the running tally of votes by Fox News viewers was showing
Ron Paul, with 30 percent, the winner of the debate.

Brother Hannity seemed startled and perplexed by the votes being text-messaged in the thousands to Fox News saying Paul won, Romney was second, Rudy third and McCain far down the track at 4 percent.

"I would ask the congressman to ... tell us what he meant,"
said Rudy.

A fair question and a crucial question.

When Ron Paul said the 9-11 killers were "over here because we are over there," he was not excusing the mass murderers of 3,000 Americans. He was explaining the roots of hatred out of which the suicide-killers came.

Lest we forget, Osama bin Laden was among the mujahedeen whom we, in the Reagan decade, were aiding when they were fighting to expel the Red Army from Afghanistan. We sent them Stinger missiles, Spanish mortars, sniper rifles. And they helped drive the Russians out.

What Ron Paul was addressing was the question of what turned the allies we aided into haters of the United States. Was it the fact that they discovered we have freedom of speech or separation of church and state? Do they hate us because of who we are? Or do they hate us because of what we do?

Osama bin Laden in his declaration of war in the 1990s said it was U.S. troops on the sacred soil of Saudi Arabia, U.S. bombing and sanctions of a crushed Iraqi people, and U.S. support of Israel's persecution of the Palestinians that were the reasons he and his mujahedeen were declaring war on us.

Elsewhere, he has mentioned Sykes-Picot, the secret British-French deal that double-crossed the Arabs who had fought for their freedom alongside Lawrence of Arabia and were rewarded with a quarter century of British-French imperial domination and humiliation.

Almost all agree that, horrible as 9-11 was, it was not anarchic terror. It was political terror, done with a political motive and a political objective.

What does Rudy Giuliani think the political motive was for 9-11?

Was it because we are good and they are evil? Is it because they hate our freedom? Is it that simple?

Ron Paul
says Osama bin Laden is delighted we invaded Iraq.

Does the man not have a point? The United States is now tied down in a bloody guerrilla war in the Middle East and increasingly hated in Arab and Islamic countries where we were once hugely admired as the first and greatest of the anti-colonial nations. Does anyone think that Osama is unhappy with what is happening to us in Iraq?

Of the 10 candidates on stage in South Carolina,
Dr. Paul alone opposed the war. He alone voted against the war. Have not the last five years vindicated him, when two-thirds of the nation now agrees with him that the war was a mistake, and journalists and politicians left and right are babbling in confession, "If I had only known then what I know now ..."

Rudy implied that Ron Paul was unpatriotic to suggest the violence against us out of the Middle East may be in reaction to U.S. policy in the Middle East. Was President Hoover unpatriotic when, the day after Pearl Harbor, he wrote to friends, "You and I know that this continuous putting pins in rattlesnakes finally got this country bitten."

Pearl Harbor came out of the blue, but it also came out of the troubled history of U.S.-Japanese relations going back 40 years. Hitler's attack on Poland was naked aggression. But to understand it, we must understand what was done at Versailles – after the Germans laid down their arms based on Wilson's 14 Points. We do not excuse – but we must understand.

Ron Paul is no TV debater. But up on that stage in Columbia, he was speaking intolerable truths. Understandably, Republicans do not want him back, telling the country how the party blundered into this misbegotten war.

By all means, throw out of the debate
the only man who was right from the beginning on Iraq.

Pat Buchanan was twice a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination and the Reform Party’s candidate in 2000. He is also a founder and editor of The American Conservative. Now a political analyst for MSNBC and a syndicated columnist, he served three presidents in the White House, was a founding panelist of three national TV shows, and is the author of seven books.

Fox News Fubar

Fox News Rigs Entire Debate To Savagely Attack Ron Paul

Texas Congressman targeted by Giuliani, Hannity & Colmes as pre-screened audience applause torture and warmongering, Fox limits post-election polls to three hours and no Internet voting yet Paul still successful Paul

By Joseph Watson

In a sickening display of cronyism and as a consequence of the sheer terror elicited amongst the establishment after his previous success, Fox News rigged the South Carolina entire presidential debate in a crass effort to smear Ron Paul - yet the Texas Congressman still beat Rudy Giuliani in Fox's own poll.

If you thought the MSNBC debate was somewhat unfair towards Ron Paul, then this was an absolute debacle.

The audience for the debate was clearly pre-screened and pre-selected to include only mainly geriatric 75 year old plus Fox News viewers who are scared of their own shadow. How else can the bizarre applause for warmongering and torture, which polls show are both clearly opposed by the majority of American people, be explained?

Guantanamo Bay is uniformly abhorred, even to the point where George W. Bush himself said he wanted to close it down, and yet Romney is clapped for saying he would like to double it!

Are these audience members robots or did Fox News dub the audio to include the applause?

Giuliani clearly endorses torture and the mindless drones in attendance rapaciously lap it up! Fox News manufactured a fictitious scenario to rig the debate - the notion that terrorists are about to detonate a nuclear bomb and that only torture can lead to its discovery.

Host Bit Hume failed to mention the fact that obtaining confessions from torture is notoriously unreliable because the victim simply tells the interrogator what he wants to hear, and not necessarily the truth. In fact, using torture in place of more traditional investigative techniques would only create false leads, waste more time and put the country in more danger.

Under the Constitution of the United States, which any of these potential Presidents will have to swear an oath to uphold, evidence obtained from torture is not admissible in court. In effect, Giuliani, Romney and Tancredo (who has now completely discredited himself) have promised to violate the Constitution before they even get into office.

After the show, Hannity and Colmes double-teamed Paul in an attempt to discredit him in the eyes of both liberals and conservatives, with Colmes going after him on abortion and Hannity chomping at the bit to smear the Texas Congressman as weak on terrorism.

This followed a showdown between Giuliani and Paul in which the Texas Congressman pointed out the fact that U.S. foreign policy has bred hatred of America throughout the world, a self-evident truth that is even embraced by the CIA itself, and was scorned by Giuliani in response.

Despite the fact that Paul was given the more difficult questions and less time to answer them and was then savagely attacked after he debate, he still came out on top when the early polling began, eventually finishing a close second to Romney and easily ahead of Giuliani.

Fox News were obviously desperate to prevent Ron Paul winning the poll because they restricted it to text message only, no Internet voting, and closed it down declaring Romney the winner after just three hours.

Fox News anchor Carl Cameron immediately tried to spin Paul's success in the poll when it became apparent he was winning with 30% of the vote shortly after 11PM. Cameron roared that Paul had been "slapped down" by Giuliani in the debate and that his success was merely because his office was unfairly flood voting - ignoring the fact that McCain had openly told his supporters to spam the polls on his own website.

Around thirty minutes before the poll closed, Ron Paul had a commanding lead over Mitt Romney, yet Romney was the supposed winner with 29% to Paul's 25% - this is very suspicious as polls don't usually have these kind of giant swings.

An MSNBC poll again shows Ron Paul trouncing the other candidates, beating his nearest contenders hands down in every category.

ABC News' poll has Ron Paul at 18,500+ votes, with his nearest rivals Romney and Giuliani barely making it into the 200's. This is an emphatic win for the Texas Congressman.

Despite the fact that this whole event was a giant orchestrated smear job on behalf of Fox News to eliminate Ron Paul from the race, his message of liberty and real conservatism still resonates with the American people and no amount of vitriol on behalf of Neo-Con Rupert Murdoch and his underlings is going to change that fact

Mark of the Beast and RFID Technology

Mark of the Beast and RFID
In Airport Self Service Technology

By Dean A. Ayers
Investigative Reporter

The next stage of self-service adoption using "Mark of the Beast" technology is coming to airport security.

Airports are continuing to roll-out registered traveler programs that help frequent fliers speed through security after completing a background check and paying a fee. Shoe scanners are a new addition to the effort to make going through security more effortless.

Airports and airlines have really led the way in the use of self-service check-in kiosks. Airlines are also now discovering, kiosks can also serve passengers in multiple languages. The U.S. and Canada have recently agreed on the use of border security kiosks through the NEXUS program at Canadian airports for travelers who cross the border frequently.

Biometrics is increasingly being used at security, such as iris recognition, fingerprint scans and facial recognition technology. There is also a growing acceptance of biometrics among consumers as they become more educated about its use and recognize the benefits.

Trying to bring it all together and simplify air travel, the Hong Kong Airport Authority, Immigration Department and Cathay Pacific are engaged in a six-month trial of a new kiosk that integrates immigration, boarding and luggage.

The restrictions on liquids at security have proved a challenge for airports and passengers alike. Entrepreneurial companies like Mail Safe Express have sprung up offering to ship banned items home. At Chicago O’Hare, security officers direct passengers who want to ship these items to a touchscreen kiosk. The 60-day test was deemed successful enough to implement them at nearby Midway Airport.

Digital signage is taking the world by storm and would deserve an article all on its own to do it justice. Interactive digital signage, like the one unveiled at O’Hare last year, is an example of the possibilities out there. New forms of payment are coming on the scene, ranging from vending machines that accept credit cards for micro payments to biometrics like those implemented by Pay By Touch.

Payment using a cell phone has been discussed for a few years and is closer to reality. Rather than using RFID technology like contactless credit cards, chips can be added to phones that will enable them to exchange secure data (like a credit card number) with a reader.

While it’s always difficult to predict the future, one thing seems certain: "Mark of the Beast" and RFID technology in airport travel self-service is here to stay.

Chemtrails

Chemtrails

A Field Guide to Chemtrails

Chemtrails are a new phenomena which has struck all over the world. It seems that the government are using planes to spray populated areas with a chemical solution, which can make people very sick, but why??. Normal contrails usually dissipate very rapidly, are of relatively short length, and show variability in their formation from the engines. Chemtrails usually extend continuously and expand to transform into a cirrus type cloud layer. Apart from the repeated, intense, and unusual flight-patterns, odd illnesses will sometimes strike people shortly after these chemtrail episodes; multiple witnesses have also reported a cobweb-like substance seen falling from the sky.

You should also know that a lab-analysis of some "goo" which fell to the ground revealed the presence of biological-agents: Pseudomonas Fluorescens, Streptomyces, and a restriction enzyme used to create viruses.   Further, a gentleman who has been following  the contrails around the country for years had a medical test which discovered pathogens in his body -- the rare V2 Grippe virus among them -- pathogens that should only be found in laboratories.

During the past several months, investigators across the United States and Canada have been collecting photographs and eyewitness accounts related to a widespread, ongoing, and strangely anomalous phenomena that has been occurring in our skies overhead. We are referring to the purposeful, deliberate weaving of strange, lingering, and thickening aerial contrails, better known as ChemTrails to most observers. Most persons viewing these photographs and reading the associated accounts have had little difficulty arriving at the obvious conclusion that these documented aerial phenomena represent anything but the normal contrail activity associated with everyday commercial airline traffic.

To most observers, the feeling that there is something disturbing, and even ominous, connected with these images and reports, has been more than just a passing impression or a temporary distraction. Those of us who have yielded to our natural human curiosity and taken the time to turn off the TV, go outside, and look up into the sky, have been rewarded with a stunning first-hand observation of these strange phenomena. This undeniable personal experience has provided more than the reasonable and sufficient amount of evidence required to lead many observers to the startling conclusion that there is currently, an ongoing, nationwide, government project underway across America and other countries. At present, neither the purpose nor the scope of this operation is fully understood. Two facts are known however—that this strange contrail activity is not a normal, ordinary, or every-day phenomena, and that this program, which seems to have entered its operational phase during the fall of 1998, is being simultaneously, repeatedly, and continuously executed over virtually every populated community in the United States.

A Contrail Is Not A ChemTrail
ChemTrails are not the same as normal, everyday aerial contrails; there is a definite observable difference in both the formation and behavior of these two similar phenomena, which clearly distinguishes one from the other.

Normal contrails are composed of fragile ice crystals formed by aircraft flying at altitudes of 31,000 feet or greater. At altitudes below 31,000 feet, these normal vapor condensation trails are simply not able to form behind an aircraft, regardless of its type or design. Above 31,000 feet, normal contrails appear pencil-thin in construction when observed from ground level, and in nearly all instances, tend to totally evaporate within a minute or so, rarely extending for any appreciable distance behind the emitting aircraft.

ChemTrails on the other hand, have been observed being generated by aircraft flying at altitudes as high as 33,000 feet and as low as 8,000 feet—but generally, below 30,000 feet. Since normal contrails can not form at these low altitudes, any contrail formation that is observed at these elevations is probably not a contrail at all, but a genuine ChemTrail.

These normally manifest as billowy smoke trails when viewed from the ground, and tend to always become broader and denser over time. They generally do not evaporate, nor do they dissipate at all. Over a period of several hours, parallel ChemTrail formations will eventually spread out to meet one another and join together to form a continuous, banded, cirrus-like cloud formation in the sky. Often a fish-spine configuration will be observed after a given ChemTrail has had sufficient time to mature. Shortly after this joining-up phase, what just hours earlier was a perfectly clear blue sky, will now appear as a structured, milky-haze overcast, unnatural in all respects.

Another distinguishing difference between contrails and ChemTrails concerns their relative location or position in the local sky, as well as their directional characteristics.

Aircraft emitting normal contrails are constrained by FAA regulations to operate only over designated air routes; therefore, the contrails that they generate will be found consistently only within local flight corridors, which are easily discerned by an observer at any given geographic location on the ground. In addition, air traffic along these designated routes is always unidirectional. Aircraft flying in opposing compass directions are never permitted to use the same air-routes, at the same altitudes—for obvious reasons. Therefore, only those contrails that are formed within these restricted air corridors, and consistently with the same vector or direction should be considered normal contrails resulting from normal commercial airline traffic.

There is one exception to this rule however. Occasionally, normal contrails will be emitted by military air traffic, which do not always operate within these flight corridor constraints. This deviation is due to the fact that the military is generally exempt from commercial flight regulations during air maneuvers and training exercises—but again, this is the exception and not the rule.

Aircraft that generate ChemTrails are apparently not constrained to operate within FAA designated air corridors either; nor are they required to adhere to established commercial flight rules and FAA regulations. Consequently, ChemTrail patterns will be observed lying both within and well outside of the normal air corridors used by the commercial airlines. Unlike normal contrails, these lattice formations can and do appear at any location in the local sky, develop in any geographic direction or vector, intersect and intercept one another as a matter of practice, and produce elaborate and extensive cross-hatch or geometric patterns, which are often seen extending from horizon to horizon. Any commercial airliner that attempted to engage in these kinds of flight maneuvers would be guilty of violating just about every known international flight regulation of commercial aviation. The ChemTrail patterns laid-down by these regulation-exempt aircraft, generally appear as either long parallel billowing furrows in the sky, as some variant of an intersecting tic-tac-toe configuration or a simple figure X.It is believed that these clearly discernible geometric patterns are used as a means of identifying specific local ChemTrail formations, and facilitate the tracking of their position, movement, and drift using satellite telemetry. This information would be vital if it were necessary to determine critical operational values for the various mission parameters needed to accurately position these lattice-type networks, so as to target selected geographic locations and populations with their fallout.

Another very subtle parameter associated with ChemTrail phenomena is the significance of the local surface wind speed over the dispersion area. Empirically, ChemTrail missions tend to be suspended wherever and whenever the ground wind speed reaches or exceeds 20 miles per hour. This characteristic has been a consistent limiting factor throughout the range of areas where ChemTrail activity has been observed. Normal contrail activity is never subject to this restriction, and can be seen over a wide range of measured surface wind velocities.

One of the most important distinguishing characteristics of normal contrail formations is their pattern-configuration. Normal contrails are produced through a complex interaction between an aircraft's jet engine, its exhaust, and the temperature and humidity of the ambient atmosphere. Whenever these contrails are generated, under the proper atmospheric conditions, the number of simultaneous contrails emitted by any specific aircraft is always directly related to the engine configuration of that aircraft. A 747, for example, will leave a parallel four-element contrail in its wake, a DC-10 or L1011, on the other hand, will emit a parallel three-element contrail, and a 737 or 777 will generate a parallel two-element contrail in the sky. In each of these cases, the aircraft in question will generate only short-lived, fully-dissipating, multiple parallel contrails—always, at altitudes greater than 31,000 feet, and always in accordance with the number of engines in its design. A multi-engine aircraft will simply not produce single-element contrails as long as both engines are functioning properly. The number of contrails therefore, that will be produced by any given aircraft is always the same as the number of engines powering that aircraft—these numbers are always equal.

The type of aircraft that are most frequently observed laying-down genuine ChemTrail patterns, are normally KC-10A or KC-135 tankers. The KC-10A is a three-engine aircraft and would therefore normally leave a three-element parallel contrail in its wake. The KC-135 however, is a smaller, four-engine aircraft, and would therefore typically display four-element contrail. When used during ChemTrail missions however, these aircraft have been observed laying-down only a thick and billowy, single-element ChemTrail, while simultaneously displaying no concurrent normal contrail activity. Two different mechanisms are therefore at work here.

This pattern-configuration feature can serve as a very good guide in helping to distinguish between normal contrail observations and true ChemTrails sightings, but it is not foolproof. The military has been equipping their KC-10As and KC-135s with wing tip mounted refueling pods, to permit multiple, simultaneous refueling operations. If one of these aircraft is being used in a particular ChemTrail mission, then the resulting dispersion will most likely start out as two-parallel emissions. Eventually though, these will merge into a single wide-band dispersion pattern, retaining all of the other special characteristics associated with ChemTrail activity.

The other factor that might be working against this general rule, is the likelihood that the military is experimenting with a number of different spray-nozzle technologies having various geometries. Such research would likely be aimed at controlling the specific flow and dispersion characteristics of their equipment. Variability in the nozzle designs used to disperse the bio-chemical cocktail, would probably add some additional variability to the dispersion patterns being observed, but again, the predominate characteristics of a genuine ChemTrail will eventually prevail.

One more distinguishing characteristic of a ChemTrail than can help to separate these from normal contrails concerns the display of a vertical curtain-like fall-off from a maturing ChemTrail. Although the ChemTrail remains very prominent in the sky, the vertical curtain seems to roll off of the main body and appears to descend toward the surface in vertical sheets. The essential idea to keep in mind regarding ChemTrails, regardless of the manner in which these bio-chemical agents are being dispersed, is that all ChemTrails eventually coalesce into a consistent, widely diffused footprint, which ultimately obscures all or most of the entire sky with a clearly structured, solid milky haze.

The components constituting this bio-chemical soup do not dissipate or disappear over time; instead, due to the higher specific-gravity of the host element being used, namely JP8+100 jet fuel, these components simply settle to the earth and blanket everything within their reach—human beings, animals, plants, soil, and water, as they slowly descend through the atmosphere—through the air that we all breath.

We can summarize the characteristic pattern-configuration behavioral of genuine ChemTrail activity with the following two statements: First, that the aircraft used in these operations tend to be flown at altitudes below 31,000 feet, because no normal engine-related contrails are ever observed concurrent with the emission of the ChemTrails. Secondly, that the biochemical agent forming these ChemTrails is being emitted by a mechanical component of the aircraft other than the engines—normally, this component is the single, extended, rear mounted, refueling tail-boom.

There is one more distinguishing characteristic of unquestionable ChemTrail activity that we should mention at this time—a very pronounced refractory chemical signature, visible whenviewing ChemTrail cloud formations illuminated by the sun.

When sunlight passes through a ChemTrail, the chemical components making up the cloud tend to refract sunlight in such a way as to render a yellow-orange-green halo surrounding the sun at a distance of about 20 to 30 degrees of radius on either side. Some researchers have indicated that this is best observed using polarized sunglasses, but it can generally be seen with or without a filter. This halo is not always completely circular and continuous, but may on occasion, depending on the structure of the ChemTrails, be expressed as colored prominences at irregular, and scattered distances from the sun.

A dark-linespectral analysis of the solar spectrum exhibited by a ChemTrail when illuminated by the sun may also prove particularly useful in identifying ChemTrail activity, as well as providing valuable information on its atomic makeup. To date however, we are not aware of any such study or analysis, although this would seem to be both a reasonable and logical undertaking, well within the capabilities of most colleges and universities. Perhaps this will be attempted in the near future. Ethylene dibromide has a mild, sweet odor. However, just because you do not smell anything peculiar in the air does not mean that the fallout is not making it all the way to the ground. They are also using an additive to help camouflage this smell.

When the camouflage is not working properly though, or the fallout is particularly dense, you will definitely smell something very strange, that you have probably never sensed before. It has been described by some observers as a metallic or corrosive odor. Although we have also picked up the scent from time to time, particularly in the early morning when the air is still, labeling it is an altogether different matter. The closest comparable odor would be malathion, which just so happends to be a pesticide! When you do finally meet up with it, you will know it—the odor is very difficult to forget afterwards.

Parallel Side Effects

Strange and mysterious cloud formations are not the only byproduct of the recent ChemTrail aerial campaign. There is in fact, another, far more sinister side to this phenomena. Whether this is a byproduct or the objective of these attacks is yet to be determined. In either event however, the side effects associated with these ChemTrails are, and should be, the primary focus of our attention, as this ancillary effect could very well pose a particularly serious threat to every human being living in the United States and Canada.  As of this writing, there are no known or observed health and environmental consequences associated with normal contrail emissions—they appear at this time to be both completely harmless and benign. This same statement however, can not be made in the case of authentic ChemTrails. It has been shown, albeit only empirically thus far, by many dedicated researchers, and posted extensively on the Web, that the formation of ChemTrails have a direct correlation to the localized, time-synchronized, outbreak of a broad range of primarily, respiratory-related illnesses. In light of this apparent relationship, ChemTrails should not be considered inherently benign, but should be treated with all due caution, prudence, and concern by those who are either studying them or simply observing them.

By way of further elaboration—since this aerial campaign began in earnest during the late summer or early fall of 1998; a secondary, highly correlated, event has been observed that would seem to be inescapably and directly related to this phenomena. The diligence and dedication of a number of very competent researchers and bio-medical professionals have uncovered what would appear to be a clear and unambiguous link between the ChemTrail aerial campaign and the simultaneous outbreak of near epidemic, flu-like illnesses. These outbreaks have repeatedly swept the entire United States over the past several months, always in the wake of a local ChemTrail attack. A name has been tentatively given to this affiliated illness—Respiratory Distress Syndrome—which has been associated with a number of chemical, viral, bacterial, and fungal components, either directly or indirectly related to the bio-chemical makeup of the ChemTrails. We will discuss the detailed medical aspects of this connection later in this article. For the time being however, it is sufficient to understand that the characterization of these mysterious contrails as ChemTrails, is not without a very logical and appropriate rationale.

The term ChemTrail itself, was coined by Mr. William Thomas, a highly respected and capable, Investigative Journalist from Canada, who first uncovered, and made public, the enigmatic contrail issue and its related medical ramifications.

The All-Too-Silent Media
One of the most interesting and telling aspects of this entire phenomena has been its total and complete avoidance by the media—all media—radio, television, and the press. Across the country, countless eyewitnesses, with not only photographic proof-in-hand, but with concurrent evidence in the skies above them, have been totally ignored by all of the mainline media organizations. To date, and to the best of our knowledge, not a single radio or TV network station, nor a member of the syndicated press has dared to run a story surrounding the nationwide appearance or purpose of these ChemTrails. According to the current record, no individual researcher has as yet been successful in attracting as much as the passing attention of even the smallest of these news organizations. What is even more interesting and disconcerting is the fact that, with all of the widespread discussion surrounding this phenomena, its link to a near-epidemic outbreak of a serious and debilitating range of illnesses, and the daily skywriting in the very skies above their offices and studios, not one member of the mainline media has come forward with a story to discredit the data, contradict the evidence, or calm the growing concerns and justified suspicions of the public—which is no more than the very minimum response that we have a right to expect from any news organization that claims to serve the needs of the people.

Foreclosing America

Foreclosures Surge

On Mortgage Woes

Filings were up 35 percent in the first quarter;

Detroit and Las Vegas get hammered.

By Les Christie

Foreclosure filings surged during the first quarter of 2007, as home price increases slowed or even reversed and borrowers fell behind on payments once their adjustable rates began resetting at much higher levels.

The number of filings climbed 27 percent in the first quarter compared with the fourth quarter of 2006 and 35 percent from a year earlier, according to a report released Wednesday by RealtyTrac, an online marketer of foreclosure properties.

Where Foreclosures climbed the quickest last quarter are:

Riverside, Calif. - Las Vegas - Miami, Fla. - Los Angeles -  Denver -  Atlanta - Detroit - Dallas - Cleveland - Chicago

There were more than 430,000 foreclosure filings nationwide, one for every 264 households. The filings include everything from default notices to auction sale notices to actual bank repossessions.

Nevada had the highest foreclosure rate
- there was one for every 75 households. The Las Vegas area had undergone a boom in speculative real estate investing during the red-hot housing market years of 2004 and 2005 and, as prices have dropped, the speculators are taking bad beatings.

Colorado recorded the second-highest foreclosure rate with one filing for every 111 households.

The state has long been among the leading foreclosure locales, a situation that some attribute to a Wild West, mostly unregulated mortgage broker industry before a new law went into effect last year requiring brokers to register with the state. Many homeowners there had been saddled with unaffordable loans in recent years.

Numerically, California had more filings than any other state at 80,595. That accounted for nearly one of every five foreclosures in the nation and was more than double the number from a year ago.

Florida filings also climbed precipitously to 45,156, up 52 percent for the quarter and 55 percent over last year.

Among metro areas, Detroit got hammered the most. It recorded 16,351 foreclosures during the quarter, one for every 51 households, five times the national average. Vegas was a close second with one per 57 households.

Three central California cities were also hit hard. Riverside/ San Bernardino, Sacramento and Stockton took third, fourth and fifth place.

Foreclosures are expected to continue to increase all year as many of the numerous adjustable-rate mortgages written during 2004 and 2005 hit the dates of their first resets, when their interest rates can increase by three percentage points or more.

The resets may turn barely affordable loans into totally unaffordable ones for borrowers, forcing them to go into default.

Many homeowners -- some consumer advocates claim as many as 2.4 million - are in danger of losing their homes over the next couple of years.
